Hello!

Thank you for choosing mynd to be a part of your Mental Health Journey!

Before we officially begin the therapy process at Mynd, there are a few important points to keep in mind which will help smoothen the process and give clarity to the minor/adolescent. Kindly read the points thoroughly and feel free to reach out to us in case of any doubts.

1. What is mynd?
Mynd is a mental health organization founded by 3 college students with the aim to psycho-educate the youth about mental health awareness and Psychological disorders/facts through social media platforms like Instagram and LinkedIn. In addition to this, we provide pocket-friendly therapy to students, adults and minors & Psychological Testing (prescription based only) through a network of professional psychologists/ therapists.

2. Confidentiality
The therapist-client relationship is extremely important in the contribution towards the process and effectiveness of therapy.
At the same time, privacy and trust also play important roles in securing and maintaining the relationship. It is necessary that the client feels extremely safe and comfortable with the therapist which allows them to discuss personal matters openly and without hesitation.
Therefore, as per mynd policies, parents/guardians will only be provided with only the general information regarding the treatment of your child. Details of the matter will not be discussed with the parent/guardian without the consent (verbal and written) of the child.
However, if at any point, there is a history/threat of abuse, risk or harm to self or others, the Psychologist has the right to inform the parent/guardian. At the adolescent stage, individuals need to take accountability of themselves and need to develop a sense of autonomy. Due to this safe, comfortable space that needs to be created during the sessions, the client may reveal sensitive information regarding relationships, substance use or other behaviors.
To ensure that the trust factor is maintained, the Psychologists will maintain confidentiality about such actions or behavior unless there is a risk of harm or threat to self or others. Often, conflicts may arise between parents.
However, it is important to understand that mynd is an organization that strictly follows certain guidelines and protocols and the Psychologist’s job is to only provide the therapy sessions to the child. This being said, everything will remain confidential and this would not be an attempt to gain advantage in any legal proceedings towards mynd or the Psychologist.
There is an agreement that mynd will have no involvement in any legal proceedings, especially disputes concerning custody of the child.

3. Revoking Consent
The therapeutic process can be terminated at any given point of time either by the child or the parent. As a parent, you also have the right to refuse or discuss modifications of any of the techniques being used by the Psychologist that you consider harmful.

Acknowledgement
I have read and understand the document in detail and thereby adhere to all the above-mentioned points. All doubts and hesitations have been answered by the Psychologist. I understand the limitations to the Confidentiality policies at mynd. I understand that the therapist at mynd cannot vouch for a “cure” for my child, a definite number of sessions, or prescribe any medications. I understand that I can contact mynd under emergency situations however, I also understand that mynd may not be available to answer my calls, messages or emails as and when needed.
I understand that all my communication will happen via the mynd team and will not have any external relations with the Psychologist.
